Clinics are a way to see dramatic improvement in basic skills with beginner and intermediate band students. What is the advantage? Smaller groups in each instrument help focus their time and attention to their own technique, specific to their instrument, with a professional who can troubleshoot on the spot.

CLINICS FAQ
How Much Do Clinics Cost?
Clinic fees vary based on distance of travel, duration, and level of expertise. Within Calgary, expect a minimum of $70/hour, per clinician.
Where do clinics take place?
Clinicians can come to your school or to the camp you have your band retreat.
ZOOM CLINICS ARE AVAILABLE!
Do your clinicians provide reeds?
Reeds, sticks, instruments, and all materials need to be provided by the school or the student. Some clinicians may provide guidance on how to make reeds (like oboists and bassoonists).
What kind of clinics do your clinicians offer?
There are beginner start up clinics which provide guidance from first opening the case up to playing their first notes. This will be very technique heavy, with a lot of guidance! There are sectional clinics that will provide more in-depth help around music you are preparing for concerts and festivals. Many clinics are a mix of both. Clinicians are experts at using music to tackle technical issues. It is important to be both clear and realistic about your goals. Do you want your kids to have good basics so you can get them through their music? Do you want to have a few sections worked on in sectional style so those are sorted out for concert day? Do you have some kids that need a lot of extra help? Be clear on what you need and the clinicians will be happy to provide their best guidance.
How many students per clinic?
Clinics run best in small groups. Beginner clinic maximums would be 10-12 per group. Preferable would be 6 per group.
Although larger groups are possible, these would be masterclass presentations, and individual help would be limited.
